As time moves on our understanding of materials increases and the technology we have to manipulate these materials advances. Due to recent advancements in materials technology it is possible to do things with materials, such as acrylic, that have never been tried before. The flexibility of these materials can be astounding when you consider their uses. Acrylic is now used in a vast array of roles in various different industries. The way in which these materials can be moulded and sculpted means they are perfect for a wide range of uses. Simple domes made of acrylic alone have several different uses: they can provide protective covers for security cameras, be part of a window display (especially where light is required, considering acrylic’s transparency), provide covers for flower arrangements or sculptures, or be used as the basis for an aquarium.
Although something like an acrylic dome is a simple structure, it has come to be used by various corporations in an array of different roles in industry. The material’s strength and transparency make it perfect for use as an aquarium or for artistic displays.
